Tottington High School

Tottington High school approached us as the school sports hall had been out of action for some time. They asked us to provide a specification for a new subfloor and sports floor. The timescale for this project was 2 weeks,

Project Objectives:

Tottington High School is a mixed community school with over 900 pupils. The sports hall had been out of use due to moisture issues so the school required our guidance on the best flooring solution to suit their needs. We visited the site and undertook our consultative process. We put together a specification that would offer resilience, easy maintenance and an up to date compliant sports surface.

The Installation:

Once we had finished our consultative process the decision was made to install a CPB (Cement Particle Board ) over the joists along with a 7 .5 mm Gerflor Taraflex. CPB provided a strong base for the Taraflex sports vinyl and meant it could be installed straight over the joists. We began by uplifting the existing timber floor to reveal a void in the floor of over a metre. We then removed the wall bars are replaced the skirting prior to installing a 7.5 mm Gerflor Evolution Sports Floor. The floor was fully bonded using F Balls F44 adhesive. Once complete we line marked the floor.

The Results:

The sports flooring installation was completed on time and on budget. The feedback from the client has been positive and they are enjoying using their new sports hall.
