It is always fantastic to hear our clients are happy with their new sports hall floor. It was a pleasure to work with Cloughwood Academy to update their sports flooring. The vinyl floor was very old and had begun to look extremely worn & tired so a transformation was much needed.
Cloughwood Academy now features our floor 5+2 Seamless Polyurethane sports floor system. This is EN 14904 certificated. We incorporated the school logo into the new floor which is something we do in-house. To complete the project, we added new skirting and line-markings. In the summer of 2018, we commissioned Recreational Coatings to replace our old, dilapidated sports hall floor with a new, modern sports floor. The users of the hall include staff, pupils and members of the public. We’ve had nothing but positive feedback regarding the new floor. The look and feel of the sports hall are completely different and we are confident in knowing that we now have a much more suitable, and safer surface for our pupils and community groups who hire the hall. The floor looks and performs better than we thought it would when we decided to replace the floor earlier in the year.
Staff and pupils think the new floor is amazing and has helped participation and engagement in PE lessons and break times.
Usage through lettings in the evenings has increased following the installation of the new floor with a local basketball team now using the sports hall regularly, in addition to several inquiries from martial arts, football and yoga groups. The coach of the basketball team has been extremely happy with the new surface as has the yoga instructor who uses it on a weekly basis.
